Toyko Picture Diary | Yoyogi Park, Meiji Jingu Shrine and A Cat Cafe

A pleasant stroll within Yoyogi Park on a lovely Spring’s day in April with delightful baby pink Sakura in full bloom, Japanese students practicing archery on the park, sun is out and everyone seems in good spirits. Where Tokyo is a lively busy City, it is also filled with large green spaces - an oasis of tranquility.

Within Yoyogi Park you will find Meiji shrine. A shrine dedicated to to the late 19th-century emperor who opened Japan to the West, Tokyo's most famous Shinto shrine is wonderfully serene and austere, not colorful or flashy like other places of worship.

























Cat Cafe - Shinjuku

A brief visit to a cat cafe in Tokyo - it's gotta be done! The establishment is run very well. As you enter, you are asked to wash your hands and slip on their slippers before entering the cat cafe. The cats cannot be carried but petting is fine. To grab all the cats' attention, I bought chicken (from the cafe) and enticed all the cats for a group photo.....Mwahahahaha :) Some see cat cafes as cruel, but when they are rescued from stray and housed in a comfortable setting, it doesn't seem like a bad set up at all.

A lot of people in Tokyo rent, so having a pet is often out of the question with the landlord, so having a peaceful place with furry friends- it's a good place to spend quality time with the little animals is often seen as a little treat or luxury.
